Music Teacher
I graduated from John Marshall High School in San Antonio, Texas, then completed my BA in Political Science at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I have my Masters of Education from Texas A & M University at Commerce.
This is my 4th year at Chisum Elementary School and my 11th year at Chisum ISD. I am currently teaching music at the Elementary. Previously, I was Assistant Band Director for 7 years, helping with the High School Band and teaching Middle School Band and Technology at the Middle School.
I fell in love with music as a young child, taking piano lessons starting in the 4th grade and participating in Church and Youth Choirs. When I got older, I was encouraged to play piano in the Jazz Band at my High School and also joined the percussion section in my High School’s marching and concert bands.
About 17 years ago, I entered the emergency teacher certification program at TAMU so that I could teach band. I have taught band for 4 years at Clarksville ISD, choir for 2 years at North Lamar, and am now in my 11th year at Chisum.
I am married to Clark Townsdin. We met and were married in San Antonio almost 41 years ago!
Together, we have four children and are currently raising a fifth who attends Chisum Elementary School. Our middle daughter graduate from Chisum H.S., so Chisum has been home to our family for a number of years.
My favorite thing to do when I am not at school is to travel. I love to explore places I haven’t been before. I have been privileged to visit 38 states and 31 different countries. I also love photography and reading books.
