Music Notes- October 1, 2022
Here are a few bits of information that might be helpful to you and your student.
4th and 5th Grade We are in the process of getting recorders distributed to the students that have purchased them. I have some extra ones for sale, $8, for those that did not get this taken care of previously.
2nd and 3rd graders have been working on a musical called Pajama Party. Most classes will work on the first 3 songs this week. Their performance will be Nov. 4th, which means it will be here before you know it. I have set my page up so that your students can practice at home with both the words and music. Here are the instructions so that you can access the musical.
1.) Go to Chisumisd.org
2.) from the “school tab” at the center top of the page, make sure you select Elementary School
3.) Go to teachers and scroll down to PE, Music, Technology, and Art.
4.) From there, scroll until you find my name: Cheryl Townsdin
5.) That will open another window to the right, at the top of the new window select Pajama Party Links for 2nd and 3rd Grade.
That will get you to each of the songs, both music and words for them to practice with. Any time they can spend working on this will help us tremendously!
PreK through 1st grade has also learned a new patriotic song and are working on recognizing different tempos in music. We are also using music to review colors, the letters of the alphabet and the sounds they make, and counting by 5s and 10s. The rest of the time is spent learning traditional children’s songs. We began playing games with some of these songs this past week.
Thank you for checking in!
